Recovery Coach Employment Opportunity

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide peer-based recovery support to individuals in recovery from substance use or co-occurring disorders.

  • Serve as a role model, offering personal insights and empathy through lived experience.

  • Assist clients in developing recovery plans, setting goals, and navigating recovery resources.

  • Support clients in accessing services such as treatment programs, housing, employment, and healthcare.

  • Facilitate or co-facilitate recovery groups and educational workshops.

  • Collaborate with clinical staff, case managers, and community partners to ensure coordinated care.

  • Document client interactions and progress in accordance with agency policies.

  • Maintain strict client confidentiality and uphold professional boundaries.

  • Promote self-advocacy, personal responsibility, and engagement in the recovery process.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be able to obtain Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) designation in the state of Pennsylvania.

  • Minimum of 2 years in stable recovery.

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

  • Strong understanding of the recovery process and various pathways to recovery.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and electronic documentation.

  • Must pass background checks and any applicable drug screening.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred. 
  • Active Certified Recovery Specialist in Pennsylvania.
  • Experience working in behavioral health or social services settings.

  • Bilingual abilities (Spanish).

  • Familiarity with harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and culturally competent practices.
