Recovery Coach Employment Opportunity
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide peer-based recovery support to individuals in recovery from substance use or co-occurring disorders.
Serve as a role model, offering personal insights and empathy through lived experience.
Assist clients in developing recovery plans, setting goals, and navigating recovery resources.
Support clients in accessing services such as treatment programs, housing, employment, and healthcare.
Facilitate or co-facilitate recovery groups and educational workshops.
Collaborate with clinical staff, case managers, and community partners to ensure coordinated care.
Document client interactions and progress in accordance with agency policies.
Maintain strict client confidentiality and uphold professional boundaries.
Promote self-advocacy, personal responsibility, and engagement in the recovery process.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must be able to obtain Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) designation in the state of Pennsylvania.
Minimum of 2 years in stable recovery.
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
Strong understanding of the recovery process and various pathways to recovery.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Proficiency in basic computer skills and electronic documentation.
Must pass background checks and any applicable drug screening.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Active Certified Recovery Specialist in Pennsylvania.
Experience working in behavioral health or social services settings.
Bilingual abilities (Spanish).
Familiarity with harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and culturally competent practices.
