History

A Brief History of Recovery Coaching Services

Founded in 2013, Recovery Coaching Services (RCS) was born out of a deeply personal journey. The Henry family, having witnessed a loved one struggle with addiction, channeled their pain, hope, and commitment into creating a solution for others facing similar battles. Their mission was simple but profound: to build a compassionate, effective, and sustainable path to recovery for individuals and families affected by Substance Use Disorder (SUD).

Backed by the unwavering support of a dedicated initial team, RCS began its work in a modest yet powerful way—operating a halfway house that implemented early Recovery Coaching methodologies. This environment provided not only shelter but also structure, accountability, and genuine human connection. From those early days, it was clear that recovery was not a one-size-fits-all process; it required empathy, flexibility, and a deep understanding of the human spirit.

Over the years, the organization has evolved dramatically. While the roots remain in the personal experiences that sparked its founding, RCS has grown into a leader in the field—developing a holistic, multi-pronged approach to battling addiction and supporting long-term recovery.

Today, the organization takes on SUD from every angle, integrating:

  • Recovery Coaching: One-on-one support that empowers individuals to take control of their recovery journey with guidance, motivation, and accountability.

  • Peer Groups: Facilitated community support systems that foster connection, shared experience, and collective healing.

  • Intervention Services: Compassionate, strategic efforts to help individuals and families confront addiction and initiate change.

This growth reflects not only the changing landscape of addiction recovery but also the enduring commitment of the Henry family and the team that joined them on this mission. RCS continues to embody the values it was founded on: hope, integrity, community, and the belief that recovery is possible for everyone.
