Why do I need help?
Addiction is Cunning, baffling and powerful – that’s how many describe addiction, which is truly a horrific disease. It’s also progressive.
Once a person is addicted to drugs and/or alcohol, the disease gets worse if the person remains in active addiction. A vicious cycle takes over – more and more of the substance is required to get the same high. As more of the substance is consumed, the body’s physical and psychological need for the drug increases. If help is not seek, it will lead you to Jails, institutions or Death.
What’s the difference between talking to you or my best friend or family?
The difference is between someone who can do something, and someone who has the training and lived experience to help you find your pathway to recovery. A Recovery Peer Support Specialist can help you approach your situation in a new way– teach you new skills, gain different perspectives, listen to you without judgment or expectations, understanding what you are going through and help you listen to yourself. Furthermore, Recovery Peer to Peer Support Services are completely confidential. You won’t have to worry about others “knowing my business.” Lastly, talking with someone who has lived with a substance use disorder could understand your pain and give you HOPE that recovery is possible.
What do I have to do in sessions?
You will be connected with a recovery coach and together develop a Recovery Action Plan driven by your specific needs and wants. There is no one-fit-all approach to recovery. Each Recovery Action Plan is designed by the Individual with the support of a Recovery Coach.
How long will it take?

Everyone’s circumstances are unique to them and the length of time that takes to allow you to accomplish your goals depends on your desire for personal development, your commitment, and the factors that are driving you to seek Recovery Peer to Peer Support Service.
