Roberto Valdes
Roberto Valdes Hernandez brings over 41 years of combined lived and educational experience in the substance use disorder field and is a Certified Recovery Specialist. He began his career as the Director of Hogar Crea, a rehabilitation center in Puerto Rico. Afterward, he attended the University of Puerto Rico for six years, earning a degree in Christian Counseling. Following graduation, Roberto moved to Pennsylvania, where he worked as a counselor at the Sexual Assault Resource and Counseling Center (SARCC) in Lebanon, PA. He later took on the role of Social Services Case Manager at the Lebanon Corps Salvation Army, where he also served as Worship Director. Roberto became a Recovery Coach to share his personal experiences with individuals and family members struggling with drug addiction. Throughout his recovery journey, he has placed a strong emphasis on support, understanding, and hope when coaching others. His personal recovery is supported by NA/AA, the 12-step process, and a spiritual program. Participants can expect to find a role model who offers hope and encouragement for continued growth throughout their recovery journey. Roberto is dedicated to providing support, sharing his experiences, and helping others navigate their path to lasting recovery. In his free time, Roberto enjoys playing piano and cooking. He is bilingual and bicultural, with a passion for teaching music, Bible study, Spanish, and facilitating groups in PA prisons.
